American College Testing (ACT) On-Campus

Offered in Savannah & Statesboro (formerly the ACT-Residual Exam)

This test is for éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ applicants when no convenient National ACT date is available or to improve their scores slightly.  Candidates must have submitted their admissions application before testing. The ACT On-Campus scores are only valid for éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ and are non-transferable.  There is no transcript service maintained on ACT On-Campus scores.  You must apply to éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ before testing.

Testing Information

  • Testing length with break: 2.5 hours
  • Paper exam administering the English, Math, and Reading Only
  • All testers for a group appointment must start at the same time.  Exam start times cannot be staggered.
  • All testers must have an Eagle ID issued to take the exam.
  • Scores cannot be used for scholarships or Zell Miller.
  • Testers must have an official government-issued ID and a calculator for testing.
  • Testers must wait 60-days between administrations

Photo Identification Requirements!

You must upload a photo of yourself when you register for the exam (SAT Upload Photos). SAT has also updated the photo identification requirements to use for admission to the exam. See SAT ID Requirements. YOU MUST HAVE A PHOTO IDENTIFICATION TO BE ADMITTED TO THE TEST. If you do not have photo identification, you can obtain a form from your high school principal or school counselor. Testers cannot be admitted without their admission ticket which includes a photo and a photo ID (driver’s license, school ID, a government-issued ID – passport or state ID) or a letter with your photo attached from the high school.

All Date Changes & Center Changes must change your date or location through your SAT Student Account before the testing date. We can no longer accept admissions tickets with other center locations or testing dates.  All Test Changes must be made through your SAT Student Account before the testing date.

The proctored exam is designed for students or community members who are participating in distance learning/degree efforts with another school or for certification. The Testing Office offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and a flexible schedule. The testing staff will be responsible for maintaining the security of exam materials, carefully checking the identification of students, and administering exams according to specific guidelines set by each institution and professor. It is the responsibility of the tester to ensure the Office of Testing Services has received their exam information before testing. (eCore testers must schedule their exam through their eCore portal.)

Scheduling a Proctored Exam

Exams are administered by appointment only. You will need to contact the Office of Testing Services in Statesboro or Savannah to schedule your testing date and time between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, based on availability. Off-Campus Proctoring for éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ On-Line Courses

Students enrolled in some online éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ MATH courses are required to have proctored exams and several other departments by the professor. Students testing at any location other than éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ must submit the to have their site approved. Learn more about the process by using this .

  • Students should first contact their preferred testing center to schedule their testing date and time during the course testing window, based on the syllabus.
  • You will need to get the proctor’s name, title, address, phone number, and email address before completing the form.
  • To help find a location use the or search for a college testing center near you. All College Testing Centers and Professional Testing Centers will be approved.

Follow the directions to complete the form and submit it for approval. Exams will be sent 24 hours before your exam testing date and time provided on the form. All College Testing Centers and Professional Testing Centers will be approved.

Students taking their exams on the campus in Statesboro or Savannah are not required to complete the Off-Campus Proctoring Form. For students testing on-campus at the Testing Office, call or email your preferred Testing Office to schedule your on-campus appointment if not testing with your instructor.

This form must be received at least 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) before your testing date. Students are responsible for all proctoring fees.

To access the Off-Campus Proctoring Request Form you must be logged into your MyGS Portal to complete the form.

Approval of Non-College Testing Center Proctor

If you are requesting to test at a non-college testing center, you are required to provide this to your proctor to complete. It is recommended to start this process no later than two weeks prior to testing. This process takes longer to approve the proctor to administer the exam. Please provide the link to your proctor and ask them to complete the form. If this form is not received from your proctor, your site will not be approved. There are no expectations.

Georgia Southern Faculty Information

The Office of Testing Services offers a service to faculty teaching online classes to send their exam information to the off-site testing site that will proctor the student’s exam. 

Steps: 

  • Review the . This document provides information on the faculty request form, how to submit your exam information to the Testing Office, and text for the course syllabus.
  • Submit the within the first two weeks of the semester that you would like to use this service, with test dates and allowed resources.
  • Submit the exam information at least 72 hours in advance of your first day, excluding weekends.

Visitor Parking Passes

Visitors must obtain a visitor parking pass if testing Monday through Friday when school is in session. Contact the Testing Office at least 72-hours in advance to request a parking pass. Visitors will receive an email from Parking to register their car for the parking pass.

Nursing Entrance Exam (HESI A2)

The Evolve Reach Admission Assessment (HESI A2) is required for admission to éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ’s School of Nursing. This computer-based test, also known as HESI, is timed at 4 1/2 hours with required areas: ( for details on each section)

  • Reading Comprehension (55 questions, 60 minutes),
  • Grammar (55-questions, 50 minutes),
  • Vocabulary & General Knowledge (55 questions, 50 minutes)

Retesting

The A2 test results must be within the last 12 months to be valid. The retest can be thirty (30) days after the first exam; however, the HESI A2 can only be taken twice in a 12-month period. Physical calculators are not allowed but one is built into the test. Example: If you test on March 1, 2022, and you test on May 7, 2022, you cannot test again until March 1, 2023.

Note: Some nursing programs will not accept scores if you do not test through their testing center and other programs will only accept if you have applied for the Georgia Southern Nursing Program. Please check with your program to make sure the other institution will accept your scores if you test at éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ prior to paying.  There are no refunds after you submit your registration fees.

How to register for a group appointment? Register for a group appointment through the éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ . Then select Group Appointment and your preferred testing location. Group appointments are offered monthly and more regularly at the end of the semester and before the nursing application deadline.

Once the exam date is filled you will no longer be able to register for that date through Marketplace.  There are no refunds after you have submitted your payment.

Testing through ProctorU is another option for students to test from home.  Testers must first register for the exam through the and click on the ProctorU link.  After registering for the exam, the Office of Testing Services – Statesboro Campus will send a follow-up email with instructions on how to register with ProctorU.  The email is sent if purchased Monday through Friday between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm the same day and if purchased after hours, the next business day. There are no refunds after you have submitted your payment. 

Read prior to registering to test with ProctorU to ensure your system can support the application:

Remote Testing

éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ Nursing Program will accept HESI scores from Elsevier for exams taken at other testing centers.  If there are no testing centers in your area, you are able to take the HESI exam through a Prometric Testing Center.  Here are the steps to take the exam through a Prometric Testing Center:

  1. Create an Evolve student account at .
  2. To register for a distance testing exam.  Log into your Evolve Account and click on Student Access.  Next, click on Distance Testing Tab > Register for a Distance Exam.  Complete the required information, check box, and click the submit button. For item 2 use the GEORGIA SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT ID: 199470 (Make sure the first and last name you use is the same as the government issued photo identification at the testing center.)
  3. You will receive an email Confirmation Notice indicating that you may schedule your exam.  Please carefully review the information contained in your Confirmation Notice.  If your name is wrong or it has changed, you must contact exameligibility@elsevier.com.
  4. You will receive your Eligibility ID within 1 – 3 business days from our receipt of your eligibility request.  Please add the following email address to your email’s safe sender to avoid delays: exameligibility@elsevier.com.    Then follow the directions to schedule your exam through a Prometric Testing Center.

Testing Location

Savannah testing will take place in the Student Success Complex Building, Room 1025. In Statesboro, testing will take place either in Cone Hall Room 2002 or in Nursing/Chemistry Room 1003.

Registered testers will receive an email reminder five days prior to testing. All visitors to campus must contact the Office of Testing Services for a parking pass for their campus testing location if testing Monday through Friday at least 72 hours in advance. for directions on either campus.

Accommodated Testing

If you are a éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ student who receives accommodated testing through the Student Accessibility Resource Center (SARC), you are eligible to have your HESI Admission Assessment (A2) administered with your accommodations.   Please contact the Office of Testing Services- Statesboro at 912-478-5415 or via e-mail at testing@georgiasouthern.edu  or Savannah at 912-344-2582 or via e-mail at testingsav@georgiasouthern.edu to learn how to register for accommodated testing.   You must contact the office at least two weeks prior to testing to receive your accommodations.

If you are not a éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ student and receive accommodated testing through your home institution, you must provide paperwork on letterhead from your institution’s designated office with your approved accommodation prior to registering.  This cannot be a letter from your high school concerning your accommodations.

Only testers with approved accommodations through their institution of higher education can receive accommodated testing.
