Georgia Southern BUILD program wraps up 13th year of community service

Recently, 82 incoming freshmen at éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ participated in the 2019 Building Undergraduate Involvement in Leadership Development (BUILD) program, coordinated by the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement (OLCE). The students performed 2,480 hours of community service throughout the program.

Savannah Wind Symphony presents 41st annual Patriotic Concert on Armstrong Campus

Savannah Wind Symphony will honor active members of the military and veterans during its 41st annual Patriotic Concert on the Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus in Savannah. The concert will be held on June 30 at 3 p.m. at the Fine Arts Auditorium.

Georgia Southern Division of Continuing Education to host youth technology camps this summer

Children ages six through 14 will have a chance to grow their knowledge of technology while creating new worlds at various Black Rocket programs throughout the summer hosted by the éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ Division of Continuing Education.

Museum on Main Otis Redding exhibit to showcase Georgia Southern students’ work

Another chapter of the connection between Redding, the University and Statesboro will begin with the new exhibit, “Beyond the Spotlight: Otis Redding His Family, Music, and Legacy,” at the Museum on Main inside the Statesboro Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB). The opening reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. on May 6.

Georgia Southern to host workshop for Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day

éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµâ€™s Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art will host a workshop for Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day at the Armstrong Campus Fine Arts Hall in Savannah on April 28 from noon to 3 p.m. The workshop is free and open to all ages and skill levels.

2019 Georgia Southern Alumni Association Awards honor service, achievement

The 2019 éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ Alumni Association Awards were presented Saturday, April 13 to eight distinguished alumni at the Nessmith-Lane Center on the Statesboro Campus.

éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ to host Southeast Conference on Positive Behavior Interventions and Support

The 2019 Southeast Conference on Positive Behavior Interventions (PBIS) and Support will be held June 3 through 5, featuring five strands of targeted, evidence-based training for schools and school districts at each stage of the PBIS implementation process. The conference is hosted by the éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ College of Education at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah.

Georgia Southern hosts fourth annual EdCamp on Statesboro Campus

éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµâ€™s fourth annual EdCamp, a free, participant-driven professional development program for K-12 teachers and educational professionals, will take place on Saturday, April 27, at the University’s College of Education on the Statesboro Campus from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Georgia Southern IT students to host night of gaming, computer networking

The éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ Department of Information Technology (IT) is hosting TekLAN 46 Friday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. throughout the IT building. Put on each semester by IT students, the event includes gaming, board games, movies, coding and networking, both on the computer and socially.
